HIV Prevention

 

Objective:

 

To reduce new HIV infections through prevention models that promotes sustainable attitude and behavior change.

 

To provide information, advice and training on HIV/AIDS related issues to young people, in communities in Uganda .

 

Strategy:

This will be done through health promotion and health education activities manned by outreach health workers and trained volunteers.

 

 

Activities:

1. To provide information, advice and training on HIV/AIDS related issues to young         people, opinion leaders, schools, churches, women, men and the mobile population in communities in Uganda .

 

2. Increase knowledge of HIV/AIDS, to ensure that people have the basic facts in a language, visual medium or other media that they can understand and relate to. This is to effectively motivate audiences to change their behaviors in positive ways.

 

3. To increase the quality of life and well being of young people affected by HIV/AIDS through effective prevention and educational programmes by  addressing the myths and misconceptions about HIV/AIDS.
